In India, healthcare often comes with unspoken barriers for the LGBTQ+ community. Many avoid visiting hospitals or clinics out of fear—fear of judgment, rejection, or being treated as “different.” But behind every identity is a human being who deserves care, dignity, and acceptance.
With this belief, Shivam Charitable Trust proudly launched Project Samanta in 2025. The name Samanta (समता) means equality, and through this initiative, we work to ensure that healthcare is not a privilege, but a right accessible to every individual—without bias or stigma.

Why Project Samanta?
- Many LGBTQ+ individuals hesitate to seek medical help because their personality, dressing, or identity is not accepted openly in society.
- This hesitation impacts both physical health and mental well-being.

What We Do
- Inclusive Health Camps: General check-ups, mental health counseling, sexual & reproductive health services, and lifestyle disease screening.
- Awareness Campaigns: Seminars, workshops, and public dialogues to break stigma and build acceptance.
- Community Engagement: Creating safe spaces where LGBTQ+ members feel heard, supported, and respected.
- Capacity Building: Training healthcare professionals and volunteers to provide sensitive, non-judgmental care.
